Announcement of the International Conference<\/strong>
The Ukrainian Association of Cognitive Linguistics and Poetics (UACLaP), together with the Faculty of Linguistics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Educational and Research Institute of Foreign Languages of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, invites you to participate in the 5th International Conference \u201cThe Evolution of Philological Studies: Gains of the Past, Modernity, Glimpses of the Future\u201d<\/em>, which will be held online on 20-22 May 2027.
The conference will be preceded by a Summer School for postgraduate students and early\u2011career researchers, focusing on stylistics, rhetoric, and intermedial studies, with the participation of renowned international scholars.
The conference programme will include a Round Table on experiential translation, as well as a special event, \u201cUkrainian Linguistics: A Memorial Section\u201d<\/em>, dedicated to our teachers and mentors \u2013 outstanding Ukrainian scholars who laid the foundations of modern philologi<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On October 3, 2026, the Association held its Annual General Meeting, which included the President\u2019s report for the past year, delivered by Prof. Olga Vorobyova, as well as the report of the audit commission. A central point of discussion was preparation for the 5th International UACLiP Conference, \u201cThe Evolution of Philological Studies: Gains of the Past, Modernity, Glimpses of the Future,\u201d<\/em> scheduled for May 20\u201322, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference will be preceded by a Summer School for postgraduate students and young scholars, focusing on stylistics, rhetoric, and intermedial studies. The invited lecturers are world\u2011renowned scholars: Prof. Michael Toolan, Prof. Michael Burke, and Prof. El\u017cbieta Chrzanowska\u2011Kluczewska. Within the conference programme, a Round Table on experiential translation will be held (moderated by Dr. Madeleine Campbell), and a special event, \u201cUkrainian Linguistics: Memorial Section,\u201d<\/em> will be organised to honour our teachers and mentors \u2013 outstanding national scholars who laid the foundations of modern philological studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, postgraduate student Ya. Ya. Samosiienko shared information about the activities of the International Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA), where he represents the interests of students and postgraduates and serves as PALA\u2019s ambassador in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Meeting also co\u2011opted Prof. Larysa Makaruk onto the Association\u2019s Board as Vice President. In addition, it was decided to resume publication of the Association\u2019s Bulletin and to continue updating the Association\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
